Nothing relaxes the body like a massage, but when you're away from our office, be sure to stock your cupboards with drinks that can help you unwind. There are some beverages that are geared towards relaxation. When it's time to kick back and relax, reach for one of these three drinks:

Green Tea

More people are jumping on the green tea bandwagon these days, and for good reason. Green tea contains a natural ingredient that fights stress called theanine. Studies show this ingredient enters the central nervous system and exhibits calming abilities, similar to that of anti-anxiety medications.

Fruit Smoothies

Head to the produce section of your grocery store and grab all the necessities for a homemade fruit smoothie. Fruits are energy foods, so grab as many fruits as you like. Stay away from fruit smoothies served at coffee shops though, they are often full of empty calories from added syrups and sugars.

Relaxation Drinks

Relaxation drinks are fairly popular. The opposite of the teen-favored high-energy drinks, relaxation drinks contain a combination of herbs, botanicals, amino acids and supplements. Scientific research on these drinks is a bit lacking, but many consumers say the drinks offer a calming sensation within 30 minutes.

If you've had a particularly stressful week and don't think a soothing beverage will hit the spot, stop by for a massage. A 60-minute session can erase stress, loosen your muscles and improve your circulation.
